This time, we would like to share an application case of small wind turbines from Poland. A customer from northern Poland contacted us in early 2025. He said he lived in a small town near Gdansk. We immediately checked the location and climate conditions there: The area has a temperate oceanic climate, influenced by the Baltic Sea, and has excellent wind conditions. The average annual wind speed is approximately 6m/s.
This provides favorable conditions for wind power generation. The customer operates a medium-sized farm and needs to frequently extract water for irrigation and livestock feeding, as well as has small processing equipment. Therefore, its electricity consumption is relatively high, with an average monthly consumption of 2,000 kilowatt-hours. In winter, electric heating equipment further increases energy demand.
However, when discussing the client's installation environment, we learned that his farm has limited available open space and there are permanent residents nearby. This means that our wind turbine solution must meet three key requirements - small size, low noise, and strong adaptability to different wind directions. Only in this way can it not interfere with the lives of the nearby residents and also comply with local planning regulations.

The customer's wind speed was 6 m/s, available space was limited, and there was a residential area nearby. These conditions led us to ultimately choose the X-type Wind Turbines and the Archimedes Wind Turbines as alternatives. Furthermore, Poland's distributed energy policy for individual users explicitly restricts the installation of large Wind Turbines. According to Poland's Renewable Energy Law and the "My Wind Farm" subsidy program, micro-Wind Turbines with power between 1 kW and 20 kW are eligible for construction permit exemptions or simplified procedures and have the opportunity to receive equipment subsidies of up to 50%. Therefore, we have uniformly set the rated power of each wind turbine to 5 kilowatts. This not only meets the electricity demands of our customers, but also complies with relevant regulations and subsidy requirements.
The customer chose a 5kW Archimedes wind turbine and a 5kW X-type wind turbine, along with a grid-connected wind power inverter and control unit. The inverter's function is to provide energy to the load when there is electrical demand, drawing energy from the grid for any shortfall. Ultimately, the customer ordered two Wind Turbines and their control inverters to see how much electricity they could save each month.
Finally, 2 sets vertical wind turbines were assembled to form a mini wind power plant that supplies electricity to the client's internal grid. The client intends to install and test these two samples first, and then decide whether to add additional wind turbines for power supply.

Starting from the order in January 2025, the units will be delivered to the customers in March 2025 and installed in April. Each 5kW wind turbine generator can generate approximately 40kWh of electricity for the customers every day. Ultimately, the customer purchased three more units, enabling them to essentially eliminate the need for additional electricity from the grid.Calculations show that after receiving subsidies from the Polish government, the project's payback period is six months. All electricity generated after six months constitutes profit from this investment.
This case clearly demonstrates that for European rural towns with moderate wind speeds, limited space, and near by residences, a solution based on multiple 5 kW low-noise small turbines (mixing Archimedes and X-type designs) – each paired with its own grid-tied inverter – is technically viable, economically attractive, and fully compliant with local regulations. It provides excellent references for similar applications in this region.
