PVT Solar Panel + Heat Pump System Solution for a 240㎡ House in Rome, Italy

One client is from Roma, Italy, his house is 240㎡, he want us to give him one solution which can supply heat+cooling+hot water, and also electricity for other load, around 20kwh per day.

What we have information for the system:

1. Annual peak sunshine ≈ 1500h, daily peak sunshine ≈ 4.0h

So The house’s winter design heat load is 17–22 kW for 240㎡,

2. For our output of PVT and PV as following

PVT Solar Panel: 600Wp (Power Generation) + 1416W (Heat Generation) per unit

PV Panel: 600Wp (Power Generation only) per unit

3. 2 Units of 6 HP Heat pump:

Total rated input power: 7.0–10.4 kW

Total actual operating power: 5.0–8.0 kW, daily work for 8hours,so it daily consumption is 52kwh or so .

4. except heat pump,there still need 20kwh to power the rest load.

5. via AI, we can learn normally there are 2-4 toilet room,4-6 person for 240m house.

Based on the data above,we can get following scheme:

1. 14 pieces of PVT solar panel,Total Heat Generation Capacity (PVT): 19.82 kW (14×1.416kW=19.824kw>17kw),

2. 18 pieces of PV Panel, Total daily output power:76.8kwh, it can cover: 52KWH + 20KWH (PEAK CONSUMPTION)

3. 20kw hybrid inverter : both ok for MPPT controller and load

4. 20kwh battery: which can keep working however night or rainy day

5. 1000L water tank also can storage surplus hot during day, reduce wasting and keep hot water enough for bath and other use.

So finally our scheme as following:
